Square Enix Give Us The Sequel We’ve Wanted Since 2007
The world has been waiting for a sequel to the cult classic Nintendo DS game ‘The World Ends With You’ since 2007, finally Square Enix has confirmed to us what we all hoped.
‘NEO: The World Ends With You’, was announced for the Playstation 4 and the Nintendo Switch for summer 2021 release.
A trailer was released alongside the announcement from Square Enix. Although the trailer gave us only a snippet of what to expect from the upcoming game. Story-wise the game looks to feature a character called ‘Neo’, who is tasked with completing the ‘Reaper Games’ if he intends to survive and not be erased from existence. The game’s setting is a wonderful re-creation of the ‘Shibuya’ district in Tokyo. The story looks to feature a new cast of colourful characters to meet and fight beside.
Square Enix re-released the original game on the Nintendo Switch back in 2018, with revised graphics.
The remastered original ‘The World Ends With You: Final Remix’ is available both physically and digitally on the Nintendo Switch.
So it could be worth picking up a copy of the game until the sequel arrives.
