Nintendo gets Sharp to help assemble Switch consoles.
According to company insiders, Nintendo has made contact with fellow Japanese electronics manufacturer Sharp, to provide the assemble of upcoming Nintendo Switch consoles.
The news comes from an anonymous source who has given the reasons to be that the game company wants to add manufacturing from outside of China, to help avoid the current US-China trade war.
Sharp, currently has an assembling factory in Malaysia. The new location would add to the current sites where the Switch is assembled, both Vietnam and China.
Nintendo at the beginning of the year was struggling to keep up with the demand for its Switch consoles. Which saw the console sell out through multiple websites, and demand increase on reseller websites like eBay.
Sharp and Nintendo have a history of working together, with Sharp assembling the original NES and supplied components for the companies 3DS handheld system.
