New Monster Hunter For Switch Could Be Getting Announced Soon
If you’re like me and have many, many hours on Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate for Nintendo Switch, you’ll be foaming out of the mouth with the rumours of a new Monster Hunter coming to Nintendo’s hybrid console.
Unlike some recent Monster Hunter fans, I have been with the series since the PSP era of the game, with my first title being ‘Monster Hunter Freedom Unite’. So with possibly a new Monster Hunter game coming to portable, I am, to say the least extremely excited.
So with ‘Monster Hunter World: Iceborne’ getting its last major update by the end of the year, could Capcom be ready to open the doors to MHGU’s successor on Switch?
Well if you believe everything you read on Twitter, there is a high possibility the game is getting announced soon.
Twitter user @DuskGolem has shared some insider developer information on what to expect from the next game in the series. On Twitter, he says that the game is running on the RE Engine and will be revealed soon. He also goes to say that RE2, RE3 will not be making their way over to the Switch.
For those of you who aren’t in the know. the RE Engine is the same engine that was used for the remakes of both Resident Evil 2 and 3 for the PS4, so it’s safe to say the Switch will be getting a modified version of the engine that’ll be able to run games on the Switch’s hardware. Although I can imagine a Monster Hunter game running on the RE Engine would look nice and polished like the new RE games, so hopefully, this comes to fruition and runs smoothly.
Fingers crossed Capcom and Nintendo announce something soon.
