Hori to Release New Nintendo Switch Split Pad Pro Colours
Hori is planning to release an update to its Nintendo Switch accessory the ‘Split Pad Pro’ by releasing a wider range of colours.
The Hori replacement joy-con accessory was originally released last year to mark the release of Daemon X Machina on the Nintendo Switch. The controller was released in just the one grey colour which had the Daemon X Machina branding.
The release of the new colours adds Blue, Red & Black to mix. So you can now get frustrated with what colour to pick.
Hori’s Split Pad Pro features a full-size D-Pad, larger triggers & buttons so you can get that full controller feel in portable mode. Hori has added ‘turbo’ buttons to the back of both pads. As well as the comfort of knowing that the accessory is officially licensed by Nintendo themselves.
Now, if you want to use this accessory as a replacement controller in ‘docked’ mode, you’re out of luck. The Hori Split Pad Pro can only be used as attachments when the Nintendo Switch is in ‘handheld’ mode. Oh, and there’s also no motion controls or NFC pad for Amiibo’s either.
To be fair tho, the Hori Split Pad Pro is probably aimed at gamers who find the ‘stock’ joy-cons just that bit uncomfortable to hold for extended gaming periods.
The Hori Split Pad Pro is set to release September 7.
